WEN AHA LUMBER COMPANY Union, Or., Oct 21 (Special) The football game between the teams of La Grande and Union high schools on last Saturday afternoon was a hard contested game and hard fought con test from start to finish. It was seen in the beginning that La Grande had the best of the game but just the same, the Union, boys put up a good fight The Union team had been unable to secure a coach until 10 'days ago so did not have the advantage of constant pace as the opposing team had. In spite of the fact that most of the team are first year men they did fine play ing, which would have been a credit to any team far better versed in football La Grande sent along a large crowd to ( root for their players and the Un ion people turned out en masse to en courage their champions. It was a fine, clean game all the way through and no luvrd feelings if we were de feated. We understand that there will be a return game before long and it may be played about Thanksgiving. We bid La Grande to look out at the next game as our team will have the advantage of move practice and the score will stand 16 to 7 in favor of Union instead of 16 to 7 in favor ofi La Grande. ' Unions carried home a lot 1 of the premiums and prizes from the county fair. The rain did not hurt them at all. We are proud of our exhibits and premiums. Union deer hunters are preparing to go out after game as the snow on the hills make them anxious to get out. If they do, not hurry the snow, may melt if this fine weather keeps on and they will have to await another. Rev. Lowrie preached for" Presby terians in the church Sunday evening and morning.
