The irrerti- ing match between Ed Warner for merly of La Grande, and Ben Jack ton at the Keylor Grand theatre last night nearly ended in a rough and tumble fight between the two men and later friends of the wrestlers "chew. ed the rag" until the disturbance was quelled by Officer Buck -who was de tailed on duty at the wrestling bout Warner and Jackson wrestled at La Grande, last winter. The men had been wrestlinir about seven minutes when the two benn mixing it freely. Some of Jackson's friends of Dayton be ran cheenner their man on and this nettled War ner. The bout grew rousrh and in a i minute .Warner had struck Jackson a J couple of body blows. Jackson don- bled up his fist and. threatened to re taliate when Referee Robinson step ped between them. For a few sec nds it looked as if it would develop into a slugging match when Jackson walked to his corner and taking up his bathrobe left the ring.' The crowd wag in an uproar inatantly and Ref eree Robinson walked to the front of the ring and disqualified both men. Friends of the Dayton wrestler claimed that Robinson gave Jackson the match but later the referee said that he had disqualified both men and had declared all beta off. Immed iately after Jackson ; left for the dressing room the ring swarmed with spectators and many an exciting argu ment ensued. Finally' the talk be came so boisterous that Office Buck took a hand and cleared the stage, while the stage hands "doused" the lights. . , r-.- - .; - , ' Both Jackson and Warner were in the pink of condition and spectators deplored the fact that the men be came excited and lost their heads. . Both men were lightning fast, Jack son stripped the heaviest and show ed great form but Warner was as strong aa an ox and wriggled out of tight places with rase. At no time was either' man in danger of a fall and it began to look as if the first fall would be a long dragged out af fair. After the bout Carl Nelson and Warner both issued challenges to wrestle 'Jackson. ; A match may be arranged between the two men laterlV NOTICE OF FINAL ACCOUNT.
