the stuff was sold $6.00 to $6.50. But

been a degree firmer, and $8.50 to
$8.60 was bid freely for this class,
with a few extra choice loads going
at $8.75. Much flabby pork is being
liquidated and killers manifest slight
interest Receipts were larger than

at last week's close.

sum of $13,660.51, for street paving,
in denominations of $500.00, bearing
interest at six per cent per annum,

served dainty refreshments to all, con
sisting of cocoa and wafers. There
was a large crowd present and exclam
ations of surprise and pleasure were
heard on every hand as to fine ex
hibits made ty the yodng people. : Th'e
Commercial club will see that the ex
hibit will be forwarded to the county
fair at La Grande. If this is done
other towns will have to look to their
laurels on school fairs or Union will
carry off the prize.
