Lyle, who formerly raided in La Grande, and who took a active part in all the musical affair and for whom musicians of this city honored their society by adopting the name of "Lyle Tuesday Musical," is the truest for a few days of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Sargent at 1508 Fourth street. Five years ago Mrs. Lyle, who 18 years ago organized the present musi cal organization, left La Grande, go ing to Portland, where she was organ ist at St. Davis' church. Shortly aft erwards she left for Europe and on that tour traveled through the his toric towns and cities and visited the art galleries of England, Scotland, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, and France, and after returning, spent several months in Kansas and finally located in Virginia. . Mrs. Lyle has been traveling extens ively since last May, having visited in Ohio, Illinois, Minnesota, Washington and will return to Clarkston, W. Va., her present home, via California, New Mexico and Tennessee. Mrs. 'Lyle is in hopes she will have the pleasure of meeting all her former friends during her short stay in the city. ... SEVEN DROWN IN LAKE. Duluth, Minn., Aug. 13. Seven were drowned here today "when the flimsy top launch Duplaise collapsed. Twenty three were thrown into the waters of St. Louis Bay, but the tugs and the launches rescued 16 passengers. ' .
