Camp on the Minam Provides Exilerat
ing Pastime for Boys.
Camp St. Mary, Mina, Ore., July 23. .
(Special) The boys of the Juniorj
Holy Name society of Saint Mary's
church, La Grande, are having the
time of their lives in a tented city at j
the junction of the Minam and Wal
lowa rivers. They arrived here Mon
day noon in a special car and the
Chapel Car St. Peter. ' After a hasty
lunch tents were set up, the commis
sary department installed and fishing
tackle and bathing suits were extracted
from the midst of the blanket rolls.
From that time till supper, it was one
long merry lark. This morning the
regular routine of camp life commenc
ed according to the following schedule:
6:00 a. m., Reveille, setting up exer
cises, morning dip. .!. I
6:30 a. m., Mass. '
7:15 a. m., Breakfast, chores, in
spection., I
8:00 a. m., Short hike.
12:00 m., Dinner, chores. j
1:00 p. m., Instruction first aid to,
the injured.
2:00 p. m., Base ball, Wallowa J. H.
N. S. vs. La Grande. '
3:30 p. m., Swimming hour with, in
structions for beginners.
4:30 p. m., Basket ball, fishing.
6:00 p. m., Supper.
6:30 p. m., Chores, short walk.
8:00 p. m., Social hour.
9:00 p. m., Night prayers.
9:30 p. m., Taps.
The health of the youngsters is ex
cellent and their appetites are two or
three degrees better than their health.
Camp cookery is one of the practical
details of daily instruction. The boys
take their turn at the cook stove arid
vie with each other in their attempts
to produce the most satisfactory meal.
A course of religious lectures will
be given in the car Wednesday, Thurs-

squares within the State of Oregon, shtll be plainly marked: 'Eight ounces, '
full weight,' sixteen . ounces, full whight,' 'twenty-four ounces full
weight,' or 'thirty-two ounces, full weight, every roll, print or square
sold, offered or exposed for sale shall contain the number of ounces
marked thereon; and any person, firm, association or corporation violating
any of the provisions of this act, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine or not less than
125.00 nor more than $100.00, or by imprisonment in the county jail for not
less than six months; or both such fine and imprisonment."
