For several years past the Colo
rado potato beetle has been known to
occur in the Nez Perce country in Ida
ho, the only locality in which it was
known west of the Rocky mountains.
During 1911 and '12 some few were
reported in different sections of the
Palouse country. This year they are
found quite generally in most all parts
of the Inland Empire.- In some gar.

There are two equally effective
remedies against this pest. One can
snray the vines thoroughly with either
arsenate of lead, one pound to 35 gal

are quite effective and if properly ap-j
