Secretary SeCor Will Return This
Evening; From Long Trip.
One week from tomorrow' is the big
I day in eastern Oregon for on that
occasion, the big motorcycle endurance
rce to Baker and return will be the
all absorbing feature. Secretary C.
M. SeCor of the fair association will
be home this evening from a trip
through eastern Oregon and when he
gets here, all the details will be ar
ranged. , . -,.;! I- -
The entries close on Tuesday and it
now apepars that the list will be larg
er than expected. A group of Port
land men may enter at the last minute,
and when Secretary SeCor returns, fin
al action will be taken on that phsae of
the entertinment Plans have bed
perfected for the judging of, tiie race.

In order to avoid the sandy district
between North Powder and Baker, it
is possible that the route will miss
Haines. . Such a step has been prac
tically decided upon by the managers.
A prize gift of about ?20O will be
given to the winner of the grand
honors, regardless of what the purse
may be. Local businessment are con
tributing liberally to this fund -and
it will total at least $200. It is prob
able that the money for first place
will amount, to considerably, over $300
The race has been universally her
alded as the big thing of its kind in
this section. The Portland racers who
are coming are said to be profession
als but any professional experience in
Portland is deemed to be of little use
in eastern Oregon and'local men have
no objection of any consequence to
offer against the professionals.
The secondary program at the race
track will probably resolve itself into
four or five running events and some
harness events. Details of this feat
ure will be announced as. soon as the
secretary returns and confers with his
lieutenants.
