Ronde cherries during the prolonged rains and there has been little or no dam age done other, than to delay ma turity. Home grown, early va rieties, are selling for 10 cents per pound, and Milton Royal Anns, 15 cents a pound. .'.. V Portland, June 26. Many tons of cherries are rotting and cracking in the Willamette valley on account of the local continued rains, This infor mation was brought to the city today by Joseph Nibbler, a prominent pro ducer of Woodburn, who was a busi ness visitor today in company with C. Christensen, a grower of the same place. !x. According to Mr. Nibbler, the dam age to the cherry crop' of his section is unusually severe, The rains not on ly did considerable damage to cherries, but a very large proportion of the strawberry crop was ruined by the constant downpour of recent weeks.
