moved into the residence at 1808 Third

rtr McMillan returned home this
morning from Portland, where he was
called by the death of his father. The
demise occurred a week ago after a
prolonged illness. The late Mr. Mc
Millan was 68 years old.
Marshf ield, June 25. The Randolph
Lumber company's sawmill was total
ly destroyed by fire at Bullards, lower
Coquille river today. The loss is $75,
000. The steamer Grace Dollar saved
lumber on the wharfs but.flames men
aced the employes' homes which were
saved by strenuous work, v
Hetch Hetchy Hearing On.
For various sufficient reasons,
Farmers Union members will hold
their regular meeting, on July instead
of June 28j On July 8th, F. A. Sikes,
the state secretary of the union, and
Arthur Swift of Baker, who is presi
dent of the state organization, will be
here and a big meeting is contemp
lated. Members are urged to bring
their baskets with them' and a lunch
eon will be served in the K. of P. hall
where the meeting will be held.
This gathering promises, to be one
of the best to be held this summer
as it brings two of the chief off iciaia
of the state association to La Grande
for that day, '

Society Man Steals.
