MARTIN'S Hcse Lhde Candies Memorial day game with Wallowa 11-5, Enterprise losing, has been de clared scheduled, game, in , lieu of postponed game early in the season, "Little Eva" Bilyeu had little trouble getting away with the Moose last Sunday when the Enterprise fel laws ruthlessly walked, off with the bleeding antlers of the local Moose in an 8-8 score. . The game was loose, poorly played and lacking in interest, and the big county clerk had little occasion to stretch himself. Foster was injured the evening before the game and could not work and Conley failed to show up, weakening the bat tery considerably. Oliver, however, went to the hill and in his justice it must be said that he didn't lose the game for the Moose- two-thirds of the team took a hand in throwing It away. The Moose battery was drafted at the last moment and both did their best v Oliver did very well and with usual Moose support would , have biven Bilyeu a .run for his money, The local batters found the big heaver for enough hits to win but not at opportune time generally. The and big blowup came in the second inning when four singles, three errors,', two .: . ; - bases on balls and a wild pitch and a passed ball, the vistors rang the bell Pet.' five times. After that it was a bet- .833 ter game but the lead was too wide. .200 Stackey singled in the third; appro- .200 priated second and . scored on Lee's error preventing a kalBomine. In the fifth inning Oliver doubled and scor ed on Pldcock's single ' and in the ninth inning the Moose started a rally that brought one score and. nothing more Akin's drive to center field was Juggled and Oliver's bingle to right field fell by the way side allow ing Akin to come home without trou ble. With Mclnnis or Foster on the hill and . the veteran, Conley at the receiving end, Enterprise has no li cense to defeat the Moose, though the visitors have a well balanced team at that The score Sunday: ' ENTERPRISE. So remarks the Boise Statesman after seeing Burt Fitchner : go two games in the Idaho capitol city. The way he has improved in his control means that he is going to win a big majority or his games provided of course : he' can keep ' anywhere near his present form. Jamison is going in a no less winning stride and if the Spuds can find another pitcher there will be nothing to it from now on. Some are so sanguine as to think the Spuds are going to pull down five from Yakima, but they wont do it without that extra pitcher probably. One week from next Friday finds the Spuds at home again finishing out a series with Walla Walla on the local grounds. Conrov. the Seattle catcher is being given a thorough tryout this week and if he is able to hold down the backstopping job, a shift is due in the infield. It ail depends on Conroy's ability to catch well enough to allow King and Peterson to work elsewhere on the team. If the Spuds can win a series this week clearly-cut, it will have been a grand three weeks just passed. Even breaks at Walla Walla, the leaders, even break with Boise, second best and then whatever nice is done to the Yaks this week. r I Wednesday Note the offering of votes in the LYON-TAYLOR CONTEST.
