The second annual meeting of the
District Sunday' School association
was' in session yesterday. Rev. Os

Union and Cove, made the program
replete with good things from the
beginning to end of the convention.
The attendance was good and the en
thusiasm unbounded. The visitors
(Special) were entertained at the church most
hospitably and everyone had a good
time. The program was

Union county, Oregon) at' La Grande,
Oregon, up to 12:00 o'clock M of the
4th day of-tfune, 191$vfor the furn
ishing of all toolsi labor and mater
ial necessary for the following work':
I. Take down the old bridge near
Cove, furnish all tools, labor and ma
terial, except the fabricated steel
superstructure . now at La Grande,
for a 60 foot spaa on foundations, ac
cording to plans and specifications
now on file.''-. '
II. Take down the old bridge near
Summerville, point up the present
masonry piers, put six-inch 'concrete
cap on walls, or, put in new concrete
abutments, furnish all tools, labor
and material, except the fabricated
steel for the superstructed which is
now at La Grande, for a new 60 foot
span at the site of the old bridge.
All material to be furnished and
work done in accordance with the
plans ' and specifications on file at
the office of the County Clerk in the
city of La Grande, Oregon. , .
Each bidder shall deposit with his
bid a cashier's check for five per
cent of the amount of his proposal,
as a guarantee of good faith. All
bids shall be sealed and addressed
to the County Judge of Union Coun
ty, Oregon, and endorsed: "Bids for
the building of the Cove and Sun
merville Bridges." ' . ,
Bidders shall submit separate pro
posals for each of the above bridges.
The right is reserved to reject any
or all bids or award the contract, as
may be to the best interests of Union
County. '
