Class Play, Graduation and Eighth Grade Exercises Held. .', Unioni May 24. (Special) The play given by the seniors of the high school on Wednesday evening was a fine success. . "The Dear Boy Grad uate" had so many relative? of the feminine kind that it was very hard to keep from spoiling him. Elwyn Davis played the part as if he meant it.- He was one of the best charac ters in the play. Ora Davis made a fine old grandmother of days past and gone who was always explain ing why things were so much better in ye olden times than now Fanny McKennon was very of the " spoiled younger sister and Agnes was a fine old maid, who always thought of her "dooty." All the parts were well played and did credit to the class and . their instructor. All reserved seats were taken and standing room was at a premium. The junior class got their own chairs and those that had to ' stand up wished that they had done the same. -.- ';;: : The ' commencement exercises took place in the high school auditorium on Thursday evening May 22. Fan nie McKennon delivered the valedic tory and gave a brief account of the trials and triumphs of the class. She gave lots of good advice to the other classes but it remains to be . seen whether they take it or not. ' The different talks and addresses given during the evening were very good. M. F. Davis "s gave vthe class .their diplomas and presented each member ber with a volume of poems. The presents were totally unexpected by the class and very much appreciated by them. Thus closes the history of the class o& 1913. They go out into the world to their life's work with the well wishes of a host of friends. . The eighth grade had their ex ercises in the high school auditorium on Tuesday evening, May 20. Forty six were in the class. The: exercises were good and the recitations were given in an able manner. Opal Shap pert gave a fine class history and it is to be hoped that it will come true. The auditorium was crowded with friends and relatives of the pupils.
