In the first extra inning game of the
season on the local diamond, the La
Grande Spuds won from the Buck
aroes in the eleventh ' inning by a
score of 8 to 6 yesterday. It was
what might be called a pinch hit gf me
for twice the Pendleton players tied
the score by clputing safe ones at
the critical junctures and just as often
the visitors came back and delivered
timely, swats at timely times.
Jamison was on the mound for the
Spuds and twirled a good game. Be
sides he was backed up by errorless
support until the eighth. Krause
started for Pendleton and, while al
lowing but few hits, was wild. In
the eigthth Berger went in to bat for
him and M'Garrigle relieved him on
the mound in the ninth.
