Fancy green-fed beeves of the Wal
lowa country are being served on La
Grande tables with proper trim
mings of course. Idaho points, prin
cipally Nampa, have supplied several
carloads during the winter and more
are coming this week to local pack
ers so that the demands in La Grande
are far greater than the supply. The
Wallowa shipment arrived last week.
Packers are constantly on the look
out for out-of country beef and at
the fancy prices quoted for beef on
the hoof, it is strange that more
Union county ranchers do not devote
their attention to the profitable busi
ness.' Spring lambs are due on the mar
ket in the course of six or seven
weeks.'
