REPORTED ' JOSEPH AND WAL LOWA CLUBS COMBINE, Total of 117 Made Against Wallowa by Home Club Yesterday. Protest at the manner of compiling scores at Wallowa have followed the telerranhic blue rock shoot yesterday vyjien Wallowa is reported to have have registered 115 birds as com pared to 117 in La Grande, but if rumor has it right, Wallowa, on State Secretary Bean's permission, they say, are counting the scores made at Joseph as well, and by that process registered a total of 120 yesterday. Protests were telegraphed to the state secretary at Eugene last night, on the grounds that Wallowa picks the best of her shots each shoet, and then picks the best made at Joseph, over another trap and by another club. The Wallowa score is reputed to be 115 and the combined scores of Joseph and Wallowa to be 120. The latter figure was turned into the state secretary. JlI'v; Kuhust, in the loss of thtir' oldest child and only daughter, Doreathea. She became sick the early part of last week and died Friday evening, April 18, at 9 o'clock. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Trueblood at the home of her grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Seecher. ' When Smith poled a home run in the eight inning with a man on sec ond base, ha won for Elgin the open ing game of the branch line league at Elgin yesterday. The final score was 6 to 6, and up to the eighth inning home run, Mclnnis and his supporters had the game pocketed five to four. Costly errors and equal number of hits between the two teams were re sponsible for the scores. . The attend' once which greeted the Lsj. Grande Moose players was big a Djfna con cert and all the frills of an opening game going before the contest proper. J. H. Keeney was the La Grande um pire and Elgin furnished one.
