Grace Pickens entertained at a dinner party, Tuesday evening In honor of Mildred Reth. Those pres ent were: Charlotte Jones', Vera Joel. W Id red Retth, Naomi Klrtley. Nellie and Grace Pickens. Charlotte Jones, Vera Joel and Na omi Klrtley entertained at a theatre party Thursday evening In honor of Mildred 3telth who' left for her home In Spokane Friday . morning. Af ter the theatre a delightful two course luncheon was served at the borne of W. R. Jones. The table was beautifully decorated In red, a large rase of red roses formed the center piece. Those present were: aliases Grace Pickens, Nellie Pickens, Mil ord Relth, Charlottes Jones, Vera Joel. Naomi Klrtley, Messrs. Gilbert Hunter, Myrton Westering. Lynn Sohnenlcamp, Gordon Oilman, Ellis Williamson, Root. Parftlson. Not least among the coming week's social affairs will be the dance given next Wednesday evening at the Elks' hall by the clerks of the city. The members of clerk roll who are Inter ested In the Twilight baseball league ure the principal promoters of the dp.nc'ng party but all clerks of the rltv are enthusiastically behind It and the party indicates a large attend ance. The proceeds will go to the purchase of new uniforms. At the meeting of the Neighborhood club April 1st Mrs. W. R. Klvette was elected a delegate to the National Federation of Women's Clubs conven tion, which Is to be. held In Washing ton, D. C, the last of April. Mrs. Kl vette will leave here about April 15. The ladles showed much enthusiasm over the coming of Mrs. McCoy in "Bunty Pulls itbe.Strlngs." The sale of tickets is very encouraging, and as the proceeds of this entertainment go to the work fund of the library the cause Is a very popular one. Wednesday, March 19, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Brady visited Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith of the poor farm. When they returned home in the evening they found their home nicely decorated and neighbors '.n wa'tinj. The even ing was spent In games and cards, and partaking of a bounteous spread, It being the first anniversary of their marriage. The young couple was sur prised to the satisfaction of their guests. Once she gave her own Interpretation of "The Little Minister" before the author, James Barrle. In his home In London. And then she went Into his old home town Thrums, and gave "The Little Mlnls tter to. Barrie's boyhood and girlhood friends In the town hall. (Special) A very pretty home wedding took place Sat urday evening at the home of the ' bride when Josophine Brooks and Ed Woodell were united In holy wedlock. Rev. Dressier officiated. Woodell are very popular and they have the congratulations and best wlsbes of the entire community. Barnle MuIIeague of North Dakota and Miss Clara Prow of La Grande were married Monday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hough, 1805 Adams avenue, lRev. Adams of ficiated.
