Vegetables Supply Continue Good Stork Prim Reviewed. ' As a remit of the decision of tbe Turks and Bulgarians to continue lighting all the wheat markets of the world took a spurt upward. Al though the shipments on the coast were heavy, the price did not sag and It is not likely to do so. Blucslem is now selling at 94c96 on the paci fic coast and It Is thought that in a week or so the price will have gone to $1.00. Vegetables More Plentiful Shipments of vegetables to Front street in Portland have been better this week and the result Is that all of the towns on the line have fresh gar den stuffs. Tbe La Grande merchants continue to supply head lettuce and celery and borne -grown leaf lettuce to the trade and will do so unless the price becomes so prohibitive that people cannot afford them. This will hardly bold of lettuce and some few other things since tbe California mar ket will have recovered from the frost by Che first of March, and the supply will be good. Cattle and Hogs Easy Cattle and bogs have held their own and the outlook Is for little change. Few cattle were on the Port land market and the sales of hog; took up tbe attention of the buyers. People thought, ami rightly too, that electric lights were beyond the means of the. family of modest income. Many people who really want electric lights, but who are unfamiliar with the progress in electric lighting within the past few years, still hold to this belief. If you are one of these, you will be agreeably surprised to learn that electric lights are now within the means of every family in La Grande.
