A decided decline in some of the
most necessary articles of food Is the
report given out by the local mer
chants. Owing to the decline in eggs
in the Pacific coast cities, a slump of
Ave cents is the quotation for today
with a lower price in sight. Fresh
eggs are five cents lower in some of
the stores and storage eggs have gone
down the same number of notches.
Butter remains .at the same holiday
figures with no change to look for.
Merchants are paying 17 cents
ror turkeys and dressed geese
and ducks retail at 18c. Light and
medium light hogs have gone down a
few cents more, but beef is pretty
sure to hold Its own on account of
the shortage.
Vegetables remain the same with
good supplies in all the stores. Grape
fruit Is slightly lower,
