La Grande saw a top notch comic
opera Saturday night when "The Red,
Rose" company sang and danced and
monologued and dialogued to the ut
most satisfaction of a crowd that
packed the Steward. As far as mem
ory runs back, there has never yet
been so universally popular satis
faction at a Steward attraction bar
ring one weakness, the comedians.
Had there been a "Little Johnnie
Jones" what a show It would be.
"The Red Rose" costumes are ele
gant; the girls are pretty, the sing
ing void of anything but good music,
