Dr. Frederick A. Cook, the polar
explorer, told his story of the dis
covery of the North I'ole to a small
audience at the Uaker theatre Satur
day evening, but those who were there
heard one of the most Interesting
talks ever delivered from the lecture
platform In this city, no matter what
may have been their opinion as to
the real merits of Cook's claims, asys

handed the story of this man, who
even if he did not reach the pole
(and those who heard him probably
believe that be did), was a real plea
sure, for Cook's experiences In the
