Extending back horizontally
from the frame joint cluster un
der the saddle, flanking the rear
mud guard, are two 7-lcaf Chrone
Vanadium steel springs. The "C"
shaped curls at the rear end of
these springs are connected by
stays to bell-cranks on wh!c!i tlie
rear axle Is hung. The forward
end of the rear fork has a hlngo
joint which enables the rear wheel
to yield to Imperfections of road
surface. All shocks are complete
ly absorbed by the leaf springs.

almost any vertical motion with
