A. iMcKlnzle, this week. . The first quarterly conference of the ! M. E. church was held here last Sun I day and Monday. Rev. W. A. Winters, superintendent of the La Graude dis trict, preached to a large congregation on Sunday night, and held the busi ness session Monday afternoo. We have no school this week as our teachers are attending the institute at Joseph. This gives our schoolboys a fine chance to earn a few dollars pick ing up potatoes. Several are assist ing Mr. Robinson of Imfiler with his Iarg crop. , Mrs. Earl Park, living on thePump kln Ridge oad, had the misfortune to seriously cut her left fore finger whtle splitting kindling a week ago. She was oblged to go to La Grande to have the wound dressed. Threshing About Finished. The threshing Is practically finished In this end of the valley. A good yield Is reported except from the late grain which was damaged by the early frost. W. I. Hunter, made a trip to the Wallowa country last week. He Is building a comfortable residence Just south of the hall. A. Kleese ft Son have greatly en larged their mill pond, and made oth er Improvements around their saw mill recently. Ming Roebllneg Wedding. Trenton, N. J., Oct 16. Miss Helen fRoebllng, daughter of Chas. A. Roeb- Ilng, of the well known firm of bridge builders of this city, was married to day to Carroll Sergeant Tyson, the artist, of Philadelphia. The wedding was a very quiet one, owing to the death of the brides' brother,. Wash ington A. Roebllng, 2d, who was a victim ot the Titanic disaster. NOTICE OF MEETING OF BO ABB OF EQUALIZATION.
