(Special) A crisis "has been reached . in the league and sensational developments affairs of the Western Tri-State ars promised before the week is over. Manager Jesse T. Garrett of the Pen dleton team, has fllsd serious charges against Umpire Golden and Presi dent Sweet has called a meeting of the directors of the league to take action against Golden or against Gar rett ,if he falls to prove the charges. Secretary Keefe was Instructed to call the meeting for September 3 at BoUe in a telegraphic message from Sweet this afternoon. The Pendleton manager al leges that Golden was drunk seve 'ai times while officiating here during the Pendleton-Walla Walla series, that he remitted fines levied against Pendleton players contrary to the con stitution and that he offered to give decisions in one of the games here which would affect the result and for which he was to receive a stipulated sum. Every fan who has seen him work here will testify to his incompe tency and many local people will glvs evidence to the effect that he was drinking heavily while here. - , Before leaving for Boise, Garrett and the officers of the local club re quested President Sweet to use Um pire Starkell in the final series whicn would decide the second place hon ors. President Bossner of the Boise club and Manager Gimlin refused t? consent to this arrangement and he'd out for Golden. The result was that Golden was retained. , ; According to Garrett's statements, he was "rotten" in the opening game, giving all of the close decisions to Boise. Yesterday in the third innil-V with the score 2 to 2, Garrett disput ed 'ne of Golden's decisions, was or-, dered off the grounds, and, upon his refusal to go, forfeited the game to Boise by a nine to nothing score.
