The Clerks won a protested game
from the Bankers last night two to
one, and unless reversed the Clerks
stand to win the Commercial club cup
in the race which ends this week. The
Bankers scored their lone tally on a
long home run by Squires but there
was only two fielders for either side
and the game was a makeshitt propo
sition from start to finish. Geddes
and Stout were the opposing pitchers
and both had the variety of stuff that
puzzle batters. The Clerks scored In
the first of the second after Friucls
hit for two bases and Geddes allowei1
Garrick to go on a bruised rib, Puig
nan and Bolton had walked. The play
tnat drew forth the protest earn in
that Inning when with the bases full
