BAY & ZWEIFEL LICENSED PLUMBERS LA GRANDE I p m i, BQiSE COMBAT FIXAL GAME ODER WAY THIS WEEK. v Pendleton Conceded to Hare Made The Best Showing of All Teams. Six days more and the Western Trl State League will be history. On the whole It has been satisfactory history for everyone except La Grande and tbe reasons why La Orande's portion has v been otherwise have already been elaborated upon. La Grande and the tall-enders finish it out at Walla Walla and Pendleton goes to Boise toj clean up the last series At Boise Is where the real Interest will center for tbe first and last clubs have long since been determined, and this will tell the story for second and third. ' - Pendleton Second Best Team Pendleton should win it if a show ing for the year was considered. Boise however has taken a spurt and may get away ,with second place honors. If she does It will be because she has earned It as the issue is distinctly up to Boise and Pendleton. But Pendle ton has made the best showing throughout the year. She has had the most evenly balanced team and has gone about as she looked , from the start. She has, Indeed earned the pen nant for she has a 'better infield, as good an outfield, tbe best catcher, many agree, of any team In tbe league and has had them all the time. ' But where she fell down was the lack of four winning pitchers. Walla Walla's pitching staff alone won her the pen nantIt wasn't her fielders 'or any thing of that sort, nor even her man agement She bad the pitchers and enough of : them and that was all there was to It. Boise has been spas modic, good at times and tben slumping partly because she changed players considerably and lacked pitch ers like Pendleton, only more so. What the week will produce between Pendleton and Boise 1b a problem. Both teams are going good but It is Boise that has the toe hold and Pen dleton Is fighting for a hammerlock. The series should be a daisy. What happens at Walla Walla is neither here nor there. However an un biased critlc.having no spleen In heart at either Pendleton or Boise, cannot help but wish that the Bucks get away with the second place. Their' showing for the season entitles them to it. I St i vv ; - 4iti XiV' Uts t .'.' s-a :A.V.
