A large i crowd of Baker sportsmen, took part, ' and a number o spectator attended, j The shoot opened at 2:Z0 and lasted' until '5:30 in the afternoon. It was: because the shooters of La Grande . came to Baker that the local club representatives who had expected to j go to Sumpter were unable to go. The La Grande delegation will join with the Baker Rod and Gun club and go to Sumpter for the shoot there on September 1. It Is hoped, by. the La Grande sportsmen by this means that they can get a good crowd from j both Baker and Sumpter on Septem ber 9 when they are planning to hold a tournament. The highest Bcores were made yes terday by Mr. Lewis of La Grande and Messrs. Baldock and William Buby of this city, each scoring 22 out of a possible 25. The shoot was done In squads of four and fire, the aver age score being considerably higher than it has been previously.
