A. offlcrrf of the Northwest meet for a few days to renew old ac quaintances, to exchange ideas, and because of these things to return home strengthened for greater work. Such a conference has just closed. Counting the ladies and other visit ors who were present there were over one hundred In attendanoe. They came from British Columbia, MontanaWash ington, Idaho and Oregon. They rep resented many types of Association work. Industrial, Railway, Employ ment, Educational, Physical, Religious, Boys work, Social and general super vision. Some people'may have the idea that these men meet far a sort of a vaca tion. Such la not the case. The Con ference Is for work. Soon afterbreak fast we gathered In the hall for a period of Bible Study under Mr. Allen the General Sec'y of Seattle. These periods proved most helpful and re ceived the approval of all. The re mainder of the day was well filled with sectional conferencea, song services, and open session with regular Inter vals for recreation and meals. Perhaps the most fundamental work was done In the sectional conferences. There we got right down to the root of things. Methods, plans, Ideas and work no matter by whom suggested were frankly discussed. La Grande has the only Y. M. C. A. of Its type In the Northwest and many of the Associations are very much In terested aa to our progress. Men let us show them that La Grand can do things. f 7 i s L H.
