ganization which not only pleases the
boys but helps them to help others as
well a themselves. Because of Its
recognized usefulness the business
men of La Graude are getting back of
It. With La Grande men pushing a
good proposition nothing can atop it
Last Friday night Troop 2 was di
vided. A few volunteered to Join
forces with E. R. Humphrey as scout
master and Alfred Chrltslansen as his
assistant, in the building up of troop
1 which will nave ineir neaaquar
ters in the Methodist church on the
hill. Boys In that section of the city
are Invited 'to hand in their applica
tion for membership in that troop.
Troop 3, with headquarters in the
church on the north side of the track
extends the same invitation. H. C.
Vlnacke and Mr. Clark have charge of
that troop.
The three troops of Scouts In La
Grande have some good things In
store for them during the coming
months. Once each month they will
meet together for special programs.
.,. Eastern Oregon will soon look to La
'Grande for information regarding the
Scouts, an organization which aids in
the building of better boys, , .better
men. better citizens. t -

C. A. have been handed to men In the
city. They will find many good things
in the pages. Read, think how It
would fit La Grande, then pass It on
to another man. .
The Association has ordered the
construction of a shute-the-shutes to
be set up above Ora Dell dam.
Arkansas supporters of the pro
gressive party movement will meet

delegates to the Chicago convention.
