tution, reviewed the work of the com
mittee explaining' every detail of the
library's growth since the first com
mittee meeting. Over a thousand
hooks are now on the. shelves and
these hooks are being eagerly read by
several hundred people. Most of the
magazines and periodicals are taken
by the library and It Is found that they
attract many people. The doctor Mat
ed that it Is the intention this fall
to apply to the Carnegie committee
for fundB to erect a building. Before
doing this, however, It is essential that
a certain number of books be In cir
culation and that the library Is a heal
thy concern.
Miss M. L. Cowells, the librarian,
made a short talk in which she not
only explained the rules of the insti
tution hut called attention to many
important features which heretofore
the public had not been familiar with.
Following the program those In at
