A Feature Film to Be Shown at slier rj's on Sunday Only. In the lone, vast deserts of Moroc co, with his nearest neighbor rn-va than thirty miles away, a contented hermit Is passing his life. His house is fairly well concealed from the btrds of marauding Arahs who tra verse this desolate waste, so that he does not deem it necessary to have $ connection with h!3 neigbbo', r.j diftant, except by telephone. M Only i r.'ght, however, a group of Arabs !is I covered his hut, and -by mean of r'.ealth tried to gain admission for the purpose of pilfering his bo it o and kiil'ng him. Their plan, however, is frustrated when the hermit se-s them on their approach and opens fire With rifle In one hand, he resorts to his telephone and attempts to notd'y his neighbors of his peril.' The ArVis dis cover tbls means of communication with outside assistance and, 014 of tbe lest chots of their number directs his r.lm at the telephone wire, with the tesult that he cuts it in two. Part of 'he message, however? has a'ready been received by the friends over 30 miles away, and the hermit hopes, al most against reason, that his sitna'Icn has been made clear. The friend rea lizes bow dangerous and fhort-lived an enemy at bay. Without delay he mounts his swiftest and surest steed and heads for tbe scene of action. On the way a terrible sand storm blows up and the jourr.cy rs of course Impeded. While asleep, with his horse cautiously picketed near bim, he Is suddenly disturbed by the roar of the savage lion. He Jumps up In dismay only to recognize one of these mon strous beasts about to spring at his hor.e. He grabs '..Is riSe. and, with out having time -o aim a sure shot, kills the lion in the very ac t of pounc ing upon his faithful beast. After en countering several similar desert ter rors, the horseman finally succeeds in r-chlng the vicinity of his friend be sieged by the Arabs. He makes his ap pearance In the very nick of time as the bold marauders had, by their craftiness and endurance, completely worn out the lonely hermit. Society..
