Gus Anderson of Baker made the principal address of the occasion. Few present ever heard from any lips words of higher appreciation of the American emblem of "gorgeous dyes" than were vented by this eloquent Elk. Only a verbatim report of the words spoken by Mr. Anderson could do it justice for It was a condensed expression of highest eulogy of the nation, her deeds, her ability and a reasonable prophesy as to any future. It was a splendid supplement to the eulogy spoken by W .B. Sargent a few moments before. Mr. Sargent's best oratory and glittering figures of speech added much to raise the stand ard of the program to a fitting niche in the rung of efficiency. The Flag Day committee consisting of J. H. Peare, W. B. Sagrent, F. Bay, E. E. Kanlesl and Chas. Gore display ed excellent foresight in picking the participants for the program as It-Is doubtful if any detail could have been done better. F. C. Bramwell read a brief history of the American flag in his character istic manner and with the singing of "America" with band accompaniment, the adulence went home feeling that for once the Stars and Stripes had j been accorded fitting tribute In a day j and age when political elements are; prone to trample the colors under foot and hoist in their stead the red of I anarchy and disorder. j S AT THE CHURCHES.
