A single piece of strong wire has one end cut into a screw point and the other end wound about until It forms an article of the shape seen In the accompanying Illustration. The O shaped notch at the bottom is designed to bold a shade roller journal, and at the top are two loops of different sizes, the outer and larger of which bold the curtain pole and holds it far enough out that shade and curtain do not In terfere with each other. With the screw point feature It is only the work of a moment to put one of these sup ports up, and the construction of the article makes it easy to screw into the window jamb by hand. Mulligatawny 8oup. , Get a knuckle of veal, have the bones cracked In two or three pieces, put Into a stewpan. cover with water and wheh It is more tban halt done cut off as much meat as you wish for the soup and boll the bones and re mainder of the meat to make stock soup. Let this cool and remove the fat Cut the meat Into small pieces and fry In butter with four onions sliced and floured, two dessertspoon fuls of curry powder, a little cayenne and salt Put these into stewpan. add the stock gravy with three or four cloves and a good tablespoonful of lemon Juice, let tbe whole si miner for an hour and serve with plain boiled rice In a separate dish. Boiled Salad Dressing. For the sanid dressing uu excellent rule calls for half a cupful of vinegar and water mixed In equal parts, a tablespoonful of olive oil. a scant level tablespoonful of Hour, a level table spoonful of su'ar. a te:isonful of salt, half a teaspoonful of miisturd. a dash of papriku and an vzti. Mix the dry Ingredients nnil ruli them to a smooth paste with the oil mid nrldu laled water. Stir the mixture over tbe fire until It Is smooth and just lie fore removing from the stove add the egg. well beaten. An equal amount of the dressing and of whipped cream makes a delicious dressing. No End to Grabbing. Mopus I suppose there will never be an end to land grabbing until every thing is grabbed.
