Sunday Game Goer 'to Boise, tilting, Irrigators tn Series. . J Boise,; ' May.i lJ2. (Special) La j Grande ,, stopped '...her,,,, losing s'treak j momentarily Saturday afternoon and j allowed a majority of the Pippins to fatten their batting averages when, after having pulled up alongside the railroaders, Kellackey's men blew up in the tenth inning yesterday and allowed five runs to slip -over ttye pan. In their own part of the final session the Irrigators were helpless, and 'they lost the first extended in ning contest of the Trl-State .league. IS to 8: Both teams played the game with boots on,-but the errors of the home club seemed the more costly. In spite of the; ragged work of both on the defensive, it was a game crowded with excitement, and the result ' was always In doubt until that explosion in the tenth. " '' ; Crutchfleld, the big red haired boy from Albion,- "worked on , the slab for Boise, and though'he got awaY badly the" first Inning, he pitched a good game!; and deserved to win It. He had speed, curves, and fairly ' good control, but he has. a lot to learn be fore he can ;be . called a ' finished pitcher. He had trouble trying to field his position. Mclnnis again did the turn, he won the opening game and came back on his next time at the slab, thus far doing something no other pitcher has done, winning the .first two games pitched. The story of Saturday's game is well told in the box score: Boise. AB RBH PO A E Luttrell, 3b 5 0 0 2 4 1 Naughton. 2b 5 113 13 McRae, lb . 5 1 0 11 1 0 Glmlin, cf .. Harmon, rf West. If ...
