church will take, the place of Dr: See-
mann to deliver the baccalaureate
sermon, which will be held at the high
school auditorium on Sunday evening
May 19. -
The schools had half a holiday Fri
day on account' of Clean-up Day.
Bruce Dennis made a short adress
before assembly Tuesday on "Make
Good."

This evening he Juniors give a ban
quet at the high school, to the Senior
class. '
Monday the followers of Gregg Will
hold a tryout to see who will enter
the final shorthand contest. The prize
for the best writer will be a complete
court reporting' course of the Gregg
system.
' The final typewriting contest wilj
be held next Thursday. The prize
to be given is "The Great Stone Face"'
written in Gregg shorthand, .

Those who won in typewriting this
week were: Laura Moss, Frank
.Clark, and Mary Penlngton. Miss
j Moss wrote 36 words net per minute
ror, nve minutes of straight matter.
For every error five words were de
ducted according to the rules of the
international contests.
Miss Angst is training the Glee
club and the girls' double quartet for
commencement.
The advanced manual training class
1b making bookcases for the different
rooms arid are now working on the
fourth library table.
Miss 'Edith Wilson will be the sal
utatorinn for the graduating class
while Miss EtheJ Wilson picked the
plum as valadlctorlan.
About seven hundred invitations
were sent out this week by the grad
uating class. .
Orders are being sent to Portland
for red roses, the class flower.
A stereoptican with 600 slides was
received this week by the Bchool. Sev
eral stereoscopic outfits were also In.
