This year beautifying the grounds
and adding equipment have taken up
the loose money as well as the time
of those at the head of the project,
out these Improvements all combine
to complete the Institution.

Under the head-'of 'civic Improve
ment stt is suggested that where the
garbage cannot be hauled away every
few days that a barrel be sunk in
the ground about halt way and a close
cover be kept on It, the bottom of the
barrel having been previously remov
ed. All slops can be thrown into this
and the water will filter away Into the
ground. : When the barrel comes filled
it can be pulled out, leaving the gar
bage in the ground. This can be cov
ered with soil and burled. ' . .
The above has been; found to be a
very satisfactory way to dispose of
slops and also abating the fly nui
sance. It only requires changing
about twice a year.

center of each plant, care lining taken
to not get It on the grass.
A few killed every day will soon
work wonders on -a lawn.
