been issued for the arrest of William.

prominent in the textile strikes of the
east. The report of Haywood's arrest
followed the rioting at Garfield near
here. Haywood Is 'expected soon to
leave for Grays' Harbor, Washington,
and Taconia, to take charge of the
lumber strikes In those places.

and lent more dignity than usual. Card
clubs were practically unknown this
week, but aa this Is the last day of
the Lenten season, next week should
blossom rosy and assume an activity
that is marked always by the post

Thursdav evening Estel Wright, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wright, who is
soon to leave for Holland on a mis
sion for the L. D. S. church, was very
pleasantly entertained at a farwell
party given In . his honor by Miss Lu
cinda Hendricks and Miss Ethel Bear
den. Games and various ' Informal
amusements held the attention of the
'young people until a late hour when
light refreshments were served by the
hostsses. Thlrty-tbree were present
to wish Mr. Wright farewell.

The annual social day of the Neigh
hood club was held In a most charm
ing manner at the elegant home of
Mrs. Fred Holmes on Tuesday, April 2.
The afternoon was dispensed with de
lightful music rendered by Mesdamcs
Corbett, Scroggin, McGuire, Berry and
Miss Young. Mrs. A. T. Hill entertain
ed them with a. reading. -
The committee for the day were de
lightful hostesses and club members
and guests considered this a very
special .treat.
The color scheme of whate and
yellow was artistically carried out in
both decorations and in the menu.
The Knights of the Single Life, a
dancing club of young men of the city
at various times right royal hosts to
their many friends this winter, will
give another party next Wednesday
evening at the Elks' hall. Two or
three dancing parties have been ar
ranged during the past winter, and tha
Knights promise a royal time for the
midweek affair.
Several young men of the city are
planning on a unique party April is
at Honan hall, and the keynote of the
evening will be unique "Btunts" bound
to etertaln.
The New Idea club met with Mrs.
Ben Noyes Wednesday.

Twenty-four of the classmates of .
Luclan Robinson were delightfully en
tertained last Friday afternoon, the
occasion being in honor of Luclan's
ninth birthdey anniversary. The mem
bers of the class were first taken to
the matinee and trom there up to the
Robinson home where the whole Khs
tern family, ducks, chickens and rab
bits were ready to Berve an elaborate
