' ., Tonight In the (lining- room of the Baptist church a banquet will be giv en to all the men and boys of La Grande and community who are inter - eated In the Men and Religion For ward movement which Is sweeping ov er tho whole United States, After the banquet several talks will bo made on the meaning and the ex pected results of the Forward move ment. George H. Currey la chairman and will have In charge the program of the evening. . The principal spea ers of the evening will Le Itev. 8. W. Seemann, Dr. J. E. Stevenson and J. K. Wright. Dr. Stevenson will explain what the Men and R'ellgiori Forward : movement 1b and what Its methods of carrying on Its work are. This morn-. . Ing Dr, Stevenson said that the move ment la not an organization but a movement. It Is non-sectarian and Is of such a flexible nature that It can carry on its work under any condi tion or through any organization. J. K, Wright In his talk will take tho subject up from the standpoint of an observer. ' His subject Is: "Im pressions of the movement upon an obsorvor." Mr. vWrlght was among those who went from La Grande to Walla Walla to attend the convention of tho movement in that place and la well qualified to' handle the subject. Itev. Seemann will siionk on the top ic, "Why La Grande Should Have a Campaign.' Several of the high school boys, among them Cecil Bolton and Ellis Williamson, attended the campaign at Walla Walla and will (rive reports of the impressions they recolved regard the movement among boys. ,?. It is said that the banquet is but the beginning of a campaign In La Grande and community, and is .given by way of preparation for a three days' cam paign which 'is to be bed here in the the near future. This evening 25 men will be appointed as a committee to carry on the work of the movement in and about La Grande. : The banquet will be given at 6:45 In the dining room of the Baptist church. Twenty-five cents a plate will be askej for the big dinner which has been prepared.
