Late developments at Walla Wa'la
regarding the killing of "Mrs. W. J.
Shaw by her supposed husband who
until last week was a porter in a lo
cal barber show. Indicate there Is
some grounds for the charge and a
theory that Shaw was not really the
husband of the girl. The supposition
developed at Walla Walla, according
' to newspapers from the Garden City,
that Shaw and the woman tie killed
were not married, as the girl lived
under two names at Walla Walla.-To
clear the mystery, the coroner sever
al days ago telegraphed to the girl's
mother to learn 'the facts In the case,
but no answer had been received when
the following was published in the
Walla Walla Union: ......r '
"Coroner E. S. .Hennessey has re
ceived no word from the mother ot
Alice Shaw, the colored girl who was
shot and killed by. W. J. Shaw short
ly after noon Tuesday,' and he 1b nt a
loss to account for the alienee of the
mother. '.Ha stated she must have re
ceived the telegram, or It would have
been returned to the office and noti
fication sent to this city. The mother,
