lias prepared a pamphlet which gives
plans and estimates for the Construc
tion of 50,000 miles of roads, connect
ing every part of the United States,
. The pamphlet shows that there are
more than 1000,000 miles of highway?
In the country, of which not one mile
can be called national The object
ought Is to arouse public Interest
and secure governmental aid, , The
chctne outlines an elaborate system
of main highways, trunk highways and
link highways, Intended to furnish
travel for vehicles of all kinds. There
Trill be six main highways, three run
ning east and west and three north
and south. One Is to cross the conti
nent from Boston to Seattle, 3,875
miles; another from Washington to
San Francisco, 4,025 miles, 'and the
third from St. Augustine, 3,375 miles.
