Briggs near the stockyards and cach ed them under some .hay in a manger. It is supposed that later on the thief intended to return- to get bis loot but a hungry horse frustrated such ac tlon. The hay which was used to bide the tools was eaten away by a horse In the Briggs barn and when the own. ers came to- feed more hay. he found the tools at the bottom of the manger.
