ed a crisis. With only ore local mill
in the Pacific northwest quoting the
advance of 20c a barrel today but with
California quoting the rise a.id Puget
Sound In favor of it, the outlook con

ment of prices. . ; v
A meeting of the Washington Mil
lers' .asftoclatlon is helng held today

One prominent miller has kept back

Bluestem was sold this morning to
two millers at 90c a bushels, track
basis. ' Club bids are mixed, The

track, but one buyers says that he
was offering from 87o to 87V4c
California is taking hold of only a
small amount of wheat; at this time.
Selling by the interior is somewhat
heavier. ,
Oats, market is, Arm . at unchanged
p rices. A mail advice from Chicago
says that the government proposes
placing a ban upon the Interstate
shipment of so-called bleached oats.
This, the grain men declare, will be
a death blow to numberless business
houses, since fur-flfths of all the oats
of commerce are sulphur cleaned or
bleached.
The ban also will be placed upon
the Bimllar shipment of all deteriorat
ed grain and will, limit the sale.df
such "hot" grain to distillers and ex
