James V. McDanlel, who was the fir literary adviser of Mark Twain, was found dead in bed here today. In a maga zine article published a short time be fore t'.!i' death of A'r Twain' the au thor said when he first began to write humorous stories he always tried them out ou McDanlel before he had them published.
