As am ateurs they will carry out an enter tainment hard to' be equalled. Those in charge of the event have been re viewing the parts for some time and prophesy that there will be a crowded hall. The proceeds of this entertain ment will go towards , buying some large cabinet phonographs by which the pupils can train the ear for music from the productions of great mas ters. . Dr. LewtaB of Tacoma,- in a speech before the student body on Friday morning gave a graphic account of the life, habits and growth of the British people together with the at tendant circumstances. He kept the audience in a good humor throughout and left them greatly pleased by the treat. Mr. Allen, a former coach of Seat tle, addressed the student body at as sembly Tuesday morning. This program, which will be announced later, promises to be very Interesting and enjoyable. . A high power objective for studying bacteria, an abbey condenser and a microtome have been added to the equipment of, the botany class this week and more paraphernalia is ex pected soon. The try out debate will be on the subject, "Resolved, that tarlK should be for revenue only." ; It will be held .the last of next week after which the teams will be announced. The manual training class to date have finished thirty work benches, one chest, a cabinet for screws and nails and tool racks.
