Within the next six days the sum will be brought to $15,000 with moneys already on hand, it is believed, basing the state ment on a percentage of men who have already subscribed. , Permanent selection of a church site has been an nounced and the new structure is to stand on Fourth street opposite the old high school building. There is to be no let up in the work until enough funds have been subscribed to Justify the commencement of construction. Prior to the big campaign for funds he church building fund already car ried about $1,000 and a lot valued at $1,100 was owned so that the Catho lics feel jubilant at the prospects of commencing construction of . the new church edifice next spring. Enough money will be expended to make It one of the finest cathedrals In Eastern Oregon. The building committee, each mem ber of which has a subscription list, is working only the ranks of the con gregation at this time and reports to day Bay they are meeting with a great deal cf success. Suggestions to His Brothers by the Club Woman's Husband. Tonlgbt 1 want to offer my brother hnsbandettes a valuable hint about dishwashing. When you do the dishes don't set the dispan In the bottom of the sink, as most men do. Sinks may be the right height for women, but they are too low for men. For months 1 suffered from crick in the back, aching shoulders, stiff neck and abdominal cramps. 1 consulted our family physician without obtain ing relief. At last, quite by accident, I lit on the cause of my trouble. A pile of skillets and saucepans had been left In the sink, and I put the dlshpan on them. Then 1 was not obliged to bend over so far as usual, and that day I bad hardly any lumbago pains at all. Since then 1 have rested the dlshpan on a couple of bricks placed in the bottom of the sink, and I wash the dishes standing almost erect The roses are coming back into my cheeks, and our whole home is brighter as a result of my lucky discovery. I am sure that my men readers will be saved many miserable hours if they will follow my suggestion. The bricks may be used between times as door stoppers, foot warmers or nutcrackers. ' Tomorrow evening I will tell you what 1 know about washing granite ware. Newark Mews. First Class in Every Way. Invited Ml are ) f.'a-il Rock. "Yes," said the doctor, ."sleep is a very puzzling mystery. Nobody knows what the cause of it is, but we do know that it Is always accompanied by anaemia of the brain. In other words, when you sleep the blood drains away from the . head to the limbs.
