Smith garage, experienced a sen sational turning of turtlo last night on East Adams avenue when a Ford car belonging to L. C. Smith, skidded, uck a rock and turned over com pletely wltlhout Injuring the driver to a greater extent than a .Maok eye. L. C. Smith, the Ford ir.'an, and his employe, Mr. Suydam, had been out in the country tp pick up a "dead" auto and the work done. Smith hur ried home In the car which he went out there with. Suydam brought in the disabled car, coming along behind Mr. Smith who was hitting a 35-mile an hour clip. On reaching the city limits Smith slowed down suddenly! and Suydam who . was , nearer than anticipated, all but collided with the leading car and while In the act of turning out to pass, skidded Into a rock and went over, the machine turn ing a complete turtle several times Mr. Suydam thinks. At any rate the machine was going at a high rate of speed and when she went over like a flash . there was nothing for the driver to do but hang -on and this h did. How he came out of the melee without fatal Injuries Is hard to de termine, but a' few minor bruises was all that fate decreed for him. To the machine, luck was not so kind for the wheels were crushed to pieces, the seats damaged and the glass front broken.
