Tom Williamson of La Grande calls on us each week with a supply of fruit and vegetables. . Mrs. J. C. Briggs was called to her father's 'home on Rock creek & few days ago, her father being quite ill. Mrs. K. E. Burnett and children havei moved to the McMillan place on account of school. We mountaineers are looking for ward to a lumber plant In our mldt in the near futuire. Farmers are very busy. We are hav lng considerable rain which makes the grass excellent. Leslie Dunn of McKay Creek ha business in this vicinity this week. . J. M. Jones has sold his farm and will leave her in the spring. Grandy, who live at Fourth and Adams, wera thrown from a buggy yesterday and somewhat badly bruised hut escaped without any broken bones, when the horse which they were driving: be came frightened at a passing automo bile and bolted. The shafts broke and the buggy was tipped over, throwing both Mr. and Mrs. Grandy to the pave ment with great force.
