Indianapolis, Ind., Sept 18. The opening day of the sovereign grand loige mating of the Indtependent Or der of Odd Fellows was a busy and enthusiastic one. Every representa tive entitled to a place on the floor was In his seat this morning when thl? session began. All of the states of the union and thep rovlnces of Can ada were represented. John B. Cock rum, grand sire, occupied the chair. The visitors were welcomed by Gov ernor Marshall, former vice presi dent Fairbanks and U. Z. Wiley, past grand master. Following the open ing formalities this regular business of the convention was taken up. There will be no election of officers by this convention.
