Last night the planets Mars and Sat
urn come extremely near together,
urn came extremely near together,
when they passed each other so closely
that only 21 minutes of an arc Inter
vene. There is to be no grand specta
cle, or anything particularly awe In
spiring, but the incident 1 a simple
one and one that any child can, un
derstand. The two planets were so
close together than to the naked eye
they appear as a bright double star.

Militant suffragettes who are. fast
ing this week by refraining from
flowers, ice cream and candy, will do
more towards doctoring up their own
constitutions than they will help their
western sisters' 'cause In the fight
for the ballot. It would do a whole
lot of women good to play at pad
locking : ther purses for the better
ment of their sisters. The tonic to
the participants will be lasting. ,
If some people spent as much ener
gy in assisting to build up their com
munity as they do in finding fault
and tearing down the work of others,
they would stand higher in the -est I

Minneapolis, Great Incohonee, ; that
native Indians should be admitted to
membership in the organization. They
are planning to organize a strong
delegation on the reservation -of Wash

great council the coming fall. They
declare that the purpose of the order
Is not to preserve the traditions and
romances of the native Indian, but to
promote fraternity among the mem
bers, saying also that the constitu
tion provides specifically that the ap
plicant must be a white person and

the right thing."
