There will be four special elections coverii Eagle and Pine valleys and the towns or Richland and Halfway. Petitions for the elections were placed in circulation today in the two valleys. . When ten , per cent of the registered voters in the precincts af fected are secured they will be pre sented tb the county court for the or dering of a special election. . : Hitherto Richland and Halfway, al though incorporated towns have been Included in the outside precincts and have been governed by them. In 1908 elections were held in Pine No.' 1, Pine Noj2, Cornucopia, and . Eagle valley pwclncts and the country was voted dry. Last year Bpecial local option elections were held in Pine rUav - T- ite1 mat Kn a flaw in the. proceedings invalidated the election. None the less some places were opened up relying upon public sentiment to sustain them, and there has .followed , a warfare against the saloons that at the last session of the grand Jury resulted In several indict ments for violation of the law. There is a feast in store for the laugh-hungry at the Steward on Wed nesday, the 23rd, when Richards ,& Pr'hgle's famous minstrels make their appearance. Y !; . The mere announcement of this company's coming is usually sufficient to pack the theatre.' Little need be said for this company, for they have been coming here for over a quarter of a century and their 'merit is well known. In keeping with the policy of the management everything is brand new. While many of the old favorites still remain, many new faces will be seen in the circle this season. A great deal of attention has been paid to the singing and dancing, portion of the program, and lovers of the old-time minstrelsy will find much to please them."' The vaudeville portion of the program will be the most expensive ever carried by a minstrel company. Fred Simpson's challenge band of 25 solo musician's are a prominent fea ture and the management throws down the gauntlet to any minstrel company to produce Its equal. Watch for the big free street parade' at noom vThere will be a band concert in front of the theatre at 7:30 o'clock in the evening, and the program will range from rag time to grand opera.
