Mr. Nice has livd in Baker county near North Powder for many years. In fact he grew up there but he ac quired a farm across the river In Union county, also he acquired the promise of Miss Dalton, near whose palrcmts' farm his was located, to be come hie better half. . Every night the La Grande po lice department rounds up a 'speci men or two of these undesirables, whose coming is generally expected and watched.
